Academic closeout in Skolar combines several pieces: the final grade list by course, reassessment periods, individual or bulk grade cards, and grade exports.

What this workflow covers

This workflow helps you:

  • review the final list for a course
  • send or consolidate final grades
  • open print or export views for review
  • inspect reassessments by course and school class
  • generate grade cards for one student or an entire group
  • preview partial grade-card emails
  • understand when cache rebuilds affect grade-card availability

Before closing grades

Make sure:

  • course evaluation periods are complete
  • the final period exists
  • teachers have already submitted the information needed for closeout
  • your school knows whether final grades remain editable after they are generated

Final grade list

The final grade list view for a course shows:

  • the course and its class
  • the final evaluation period
  • the evaluation periods included
  • student grades
  • the minimum passing grade

It can also be opened in print view or exported to Excel.

Reassessments

The reassessment view is consulted by school class and course. Skolar organizes:

  • the students in the course
  • the final grade summary per student
  • grouping by evaluation period
  • the reassessment period number for the class

This is useful for make-up exams, extraordinary evaluations, or second-chance review before final grade cards are issued.

Grade cards and outputs

Skolar supports several outputs:

  • bulk printing by school class
  • single printing by student and enrollment
  • print and Excel outputs for review
  • partial grade-card email preview

Before printing, confirm:

  • the correct school class
  • the correct student enrollment
  • the academic context that should appear on the card
  1. Review the final grade list for the course.
  2. Validate that the final period is complete and ready for closeout.
  3. Export or print the list if additional academic review is needed.
  4. Use the reassessment view for students with recovery or extraordinary review.
  5. Generate final grade cards once the closeout is validated.
  6. Validate the correct enrollment and output format before sharing results externally.

Good practices

  • do not issue final grade cards while reassessment changes are still pending
  • use the Excel export to validate exceptional cases before closing
  • confirm whether institution settings allow editing final grades after generation
  • document internally when a final result comes from reassessment

Common issues

The final grade list does not load

This usually means final period configuration is missing or the course still lacks the information needed to build the list.

The grade card does not match the expected enrollment

Review that you are printing from the active enrollment or the correct enrollment for that student.

A student appears incomplete in reassessment

Validate that final grades are already stored and that the course belongs to the expected class and academic period.

Grade cards do not appear immediately

The student or school-class cache may still be rebuilding after recent grade changes.
