Notification settings

Skolar separates operational alerts from family communication. The notifications tab lets your school enable admin-side integrations such as Slack and define where operational notices are delivered.

What you can configure#

This flow currently focuses on:

• enabling or disabling Slack notifications
• defining the Slack webhook URL
• defining the Slack channel

Recommended workflow#

1. Open institution settings.
2. Go to the notifications tab.
3. Enable Slack only if your webhook and channel are already confirmed.
4. Enter the webhook URL.
5. Enter the correct channel.
6. Save and validate with an internal test.

Good practices#

• do not reuse an informal channel for critical alerts
• document which team is responsible for monitoring the channel
• change the webhook only after validation
• keep operational alerts separate from family-facing communication
