Attendance

Skolar lets teachers record attendance by class and by evaluation period. How that attendance behaves depends on how administration configured the period.

Unlinked attendance#

In this mode, attendance is only used for operational control and does not directly affect grades.

Linked attendance#

In this mode, attendance is tied to a criterion inside the period and contributes to the student’s period result.

Before taking attendance#

Make sure:

• the course and period are correct
• the student roster is current
• you understand whether attendance is linked or unlinked for that period

Common issue#

Attendance is not affecting grades#

The period is probably configured with unlinked attendance or the attendance criterion was not enabled for that evaluation period.
